With a brief downpour exception, we had a sunny and happily busy week at College Heights.
We have balanced our classes as of Friday, September 18th and Mr. Gayfer and I will be completing our hiring on Monday afternoon.
School Council is up and running. We had a productive meeting on Thursday evening and will be attending a presentation next month by Lieutenant Colonel David Grossman on Safe Schools and Healthy Students. If you are interested in this presenter you may visit his website at www.killology.com/bio.htm As a result of this event our regular meeting is cancelled.
Grade Information Night for parents is Thursday, September 24 starting at 6:30. Hope to see you all there. We love to show off our unique and impressive school.
The reunion is fast approaching, so see the homepage for information and joins us for any and all of the events.
Remember, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call the school to talk to a teacher, guidance counsellor or resource teacher. We want to work with you for students success!!
Have a great week.

Many exciting events
What a smooth start up to the school year!
The weather has cooperated and we have had intramurals at lunch, and sports teams starting up.
Picture Day is tomorrow. All students are expected to have their pictures taken for student cards.
Grade 9 orientation will be on the 15th and there are many fun activities planned for the grade 9's by Mr. Boutin's Leadership class.
This week we will be reviewing class sizes and there may be some movement in students' timetables to balance out our classes. We will be sure to contact all families where a move is possible.
School Council is up and running with the first meeting Thursday Night at 6:30 in the Library. All are welcome.
Next week we have the Terry Fox Run. Please remind your son or daughter to wear Heights wear if they have it. The entire school participates in this walk together and it is great for the community to see us out there and know where we are from.
The reunion is fast approaching so see the School home page for all information!
Enjoy the sunshine and remember please call a teacher, a guidance counsellor or an administrator if you have any questions.

The first three days
Wow! The first week flew by! We are still working on finalizing timetables and many, many students are still trying to register at College Heights. Our enrollment is the highest it has ever been. The community of Wellington is recognizing the wonderful and unique programs we have to offer our students and are literally lining up to register.
Last week all students were given Student Handbooks that outline all the school expectations and today all grade 11 and 12 students have been given a summary of their credit situation so that they can plan their pathway to graduation.
Please don't hesitate to call a teacher or the guidance department if you have any questions.
Important Dates coming up:
Photo Day is September 14, 2009
School Council Meeting is September 17, 2009, 6:30 pm. New Members are always welcome!
